A double diaphragm pump—specifically an Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pump—is a positive displacement pump that uses compressed air to move two flexible membranes (diaphragms) back and forth. Michael Smith Engineers Ltd +1⚙️ How It WorksThe pump contains two chambers, each with a flexible diaphragm. These diaphragms are connected by a central shaft. 

1. Suction Stroke: Compressed air is directed behind Diaphragm A, pushing it outward to discharge fluid. Simultaneously, the connecting shaft pulls Diaphragm B inward, creating a vacuum that sucks fluid into the second chamber.
2. Discharge Stroke: Once the stroke is complete, an air valve shifts the air pressure to the back of Diaphragm B, reversing the process.
